Make A Difference in Children

April 11, 2008

To whomever it may concern:

It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Make a Difference in Children (MDC). Susan Nicholson and I have been colleagues for well over a decade, and in that time, I have had only the most positive and rewarding working relationships with her. I have complete confidence in Susan’s clinical skill and judgment and utmost respect for the integrity she has demonstrated with great consistency over these many years.

At the outset of our professional relationship, Susan worked, first as a one-on-one behavior therapist/instructor, then lead therapist, for children with Autism/PDD involved in intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) home- and/or school-based programs to which I provided program coordination, including supervisory support and curriculum consultation. As a supervisor, I have had the opportunity to observe her work first-hand. Even after Susan earned her Master’s Degree in Behavioral Education, became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and started her own consulting practice, we have continued our relationship as peer supervisors.

With Susan the helm, I have no doubt that MDC students will receive the highest quality of behavioral instruction. She is organized and consistent in her approach to teaching and conscientious and thorough in her data collection and record keeping responsibilities. Susan expresses herself clearly and professionally both orally and in writing, and as such, she is a highly competent communicator. It is a pleasure to work with her. She has a warm and positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. Susan is remarkable at establishing strong, constructive, working relationships with her clients (children and families alike) and does an excellent job of conveying compassion and caring without compromising clear professional, interpersonal boundaries.

In closing, I can give no stronger endorsement for any agency than I can for MDC. MDC’s Director, Susan Nicholson, is a highly skilled clinician, excellent team player, and committed to ongoing professional training. Above all, she is intelligent, ethical, professional and trustworthy. I recommend Susan Nicholson and MDC without reservation.
